Champlain Maker Faire Call for Makers

The Champlain Maker Faire is pleased to announce its Call for Makers to exhibit at the fair’s 8th Annual Community Maker Faire. The event will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Shelburne Farm’s famous Coach Barn in Shelburne, Vermont. This year’s event will focus in two areas: 1) growing Distributive Manufacturing in Vermont and 2) engaging schools in making, project and startup development, and tool and equipment use.

New this year, the Champlain Maker Faire is offering a School Maker Day with will feature a sneak preview of exhibits, available tools and technology, speakers, and interactive events on Friday, September 27. Exhibitors who respond to the 2019 Call for Makers have the option to exhibit Friday at the School Maker Day, at Friday Night’s Makers in the Dark Night of Illumination, and/or at the main Champlain Maker Faire event Saturday.
Vermont Clean Energy Development Fund is sponsoring an all new contest for K12 students to develop a device that loads wood pellets into pellet stoves. Known as a Scrounge-A-Thon, students will engage in re-purposing and recycling materials to create a low cost pellet loading mechanism called the BioLauncher.  Several other Scrounge-A-Thon events are under development.
